Best Venison Jerky Recipe

A few of my hobbies are hunting, gardening, camping and fishing. So I had to find ways to put up my bounty. My most famous is my deer jerky. It took me a while to find one that I liked. I hope this will save you a few steps. You can get premixed seasonings from Cabela's or Sportsmans Guide.

If you try it and like it, I would like to hear back from you. If you are into hunting, hiking, camping or fishing, this jerky is great to take along as it does not spoil fast.

Venison Jerky

3- lbs of venison or beef (hind quarter) cut into strips 1/8- 1/4 thick

1/4- cup Soy Sauce

1/2- cup water

1/3- worchestershire sauce

2-tsp Accent

2-tbls spoons liquid hickory smoke

2/3 garlic powder

2/3 onion powder

1-tsp pepper

1-tbls cajun spice (optional)

Marinate meat in sauce for 48 hours

Place on tooth picks and hang in the oven from grate at 175 degrees 4-5 hours a little longer if needed. Don't over cook.

I lay a piece of tin foil on the bottom of the oven to catch spills..I also put a spoon in the oven door just to have it cracked open. The jerky dries better.
